Whether your business is purely online, or whether you have bricks and mortar premises, increasing leads and sales is a constant challenge, as is encouraging customer loyalty. Email marketing is an excellent way to use the customer and client data you already store to drive up conversions, quickly and easily, in a measurable way.

Today’s blog post discusses some of the main reasons why email marketing should be an essential element of a business’s marketing activities:

Increase Sales or Leads
This is the obvious one, but we had to mention it. If you have a database of existing customers or clients then tapping into them can lead to more sales and leads. Sending them details of any special offers you are currently running, or perhaps offering them a bespoke offer, can encourage them to make further purchases.

Encourage Brand Loyalty
Staying in touch with existing customers is an excellent way of encouraging brand loyalty. By consistently and frequently emailing your customers with relevant and useful information or products, will keep your brand at the forefront of their minds.

Customers nowadays are often less loyal and they are constantly looking for a bargain. By emailing them with regular offers, or bespoke savings only they can make, can help limit the chances of them using a competitor to buy the products or services you sell.

Little things such as emailing a customer on their birthday, or letting them know a new product they might be interested in is available, can help build the relationship with your customers.

Offer Personalisation
If your business has been running for some time it’s very likely you’ve built up quite a base of customer data. You can leverage this data to send highly targeted and relevant emails.

For example, you may know a particular customer, or set of customers, never spend more than £150 at a time. Your emails to them could include only products or services that are within their price range, or alternatively you could put something special together for them to encourage them to spend a bit more in their transactions.
