Italian Food Traders are an independent business sourcing authentic wines and speciality products from Italy and bringing them to the UK. Here’s what happened when they approached us to re-design their website.
The website was looking dated and was in serious need of sprucing up. The aim was to modernise whilst keeping it classy, making sure the user journey was easy to navigate. During our research, we found that the authenticity and sense of luxury were failing to shine through a cluttered homepage that was hard to digest. So we set out on a journey of transforming the look and feel, bringing it up to scratch to compete with its competitors.
With the owners having a strong background in the Italian food and wine business, we knew we had to express the authenticity and reliability of the company through the website's visuals. So, using a mature and sophisticated choice of colour, typeface and imagery, the website now displays a high-end feel whilst remaining functional and easy to navigate. We modernised and simplified, introducing more space to breathe, large inspirational imagery to motivate the customer to buy, and a much clearer user journey, all leading to an improved user experience. We also introduced new email marketing campaigns that promote new products, featured collections and special deals that go out to almost 7,000 loyal customers weekly. This has improved customer engagement and driven further traffic to the newly designed website.
