From our very first discovery session at their Notting Hill headquarters, they made it clear they wanted to reach a younger audience than the traditional bidder. They wanted a minimalistic, classy design, whilst maintaining their accessible, user-friendly, and client-first approach to online auctions.
Combining our designs with a big technology upgrade, they wanted to put themselves in control of their auctions and the world around them. Therefore, the look and feel of the website, and its consistency through the design process, was very important.
We regularly kept in touch with the Elmwood’s team over Zoom, sharing our current designs and expanding on them with new ideas. These sessions allowed us to hone in on their unique selling points, such as them charging no fee’s for selling with them, whilst bringing the elegance and luxury of their jewellery, watches, and handbags and fashion departments to the fore.
Our design team worked collaboratively using cloud-based design tool Figma. This allowed us to work together on the designs at the same time, editing everything in real-time, which made designing a classy, user-friendly experience simple.
We returned to London to present the final designs, which have now been implemented.
