UX/UI Design

We live in the age of the endless scroll. Where clicking an ad is simply opening the door, the real work begins when they’re on your website, inside your world. If you’ve got a product that fits a person’s wants and needs, you’ve got a visitor. If you’ve not got a website that’s clean and creative, and simple and seamless to navigate, you’re not going to convert them. It’s time to take your user experience and user interface to the next level.

In a world where we’re spoilt for choice and short on time, every decision we make is an important one.

That’s why the appearance of your website and the experiences it provides have to go hand in hand. From the moment you meet your users, you want to take them on a journey. That journey starts and ends with the user. It's about continuous research into your users to understand their wants and needs; pain points and behaviours. It's a constant process of adapting to your audience and tailoring their experiences.

Creating amazing experiences inspired by users

UX/ UI Explanation

You've probably heard a lot about UI and UX. But do you know the difference between them? There's no need to worry; we've got you covered. User Experience (UX) is all about the experience your users have when exploring your website. It's about the journey your users take to solve a problem. UX focuses on having a deep understanding of your users: their wants and needs, their behaviours and their pain points. UX is meeting the needs of your users without fuss, creating online interfaces that are simply a joy to use.

If UX is the feeling you get when you arrive at where you want to go, User Interface (UI) is the bridge that gets us there. It focuses on the look and layout of your digital assets, from animations and graphics to colour palettes and typography. Simply put, fantastic UI is easy for users to learn, efficient to use and pleasant to interact with across any device type.

Our Process

We pride ourselves on putting UI and UX at the forefront of our digital design processes. We believe it's key to creating meaningful conversions, interactions that matter, and most importantly, increased customer lifetime values.

During our Discovery phase, we'll take our time to understand your audience and what makes them tick. We'll look at your user personas, your goals as well as theirs, and your existing pain points. We'll conduct a thorough UI/UX Audit, including continuous competitor and user analysis, picking out areas of improvement and opportunity alongside recruiting test users and script creation for specific test journeys.

We use Wireframing to layout content and functionality, taking into account your users needs and journeys. We'll begin by prototyping designs and mapping your UX. With everything in place, we'll put the finishing touches on your VisualConcept with high-fidelity prototypes for testing.

1. Discovery

Requirements gathering: user personas, key user cases, current pain points, business goals, industry best practices.

3. Wireframes/Layout

Information architecture, UX map, low-fidelity wireframes, draft clickable prototype.

2. UI/UX Audit

Areas of opportunity: user interviews, affinity diagrams. Competitive analysis: what are they doing and how are they doing it?

4. Visual Concept

Using high fidelity prototypes, this is where we bring your UI and UX together.

User testing

Honestly, without research, there's truly no right or wrong answer approach to UX and UI; your user will always know best, which is why we conduct thorough user testing to help you identify this.

We start from scratch, conducting user interviews based on your top three user goals. Using prototyped designs, we'll explore the journeys your users take to understand their behaviours and the mental models they manifest. We look in-depth at what works for your users and what doesn't. Essentially, the how's and why's of your design.

Using the user interviews as a launchpad, we'll create affinity diagrams that allow us to strategically identify areas of your design that need focusing on moving forward. This allows us to identify and develop the optimal user flow and navigation to begin prototyping new designs.

1.  Understanding your audience

When designing and developing your user interface and user experience, your audience sits at the centre of it all. Through extensive rounds of analysis and research, we unlock the way your user's process information and use their wants and needs as building blocks. Pulling together user interviews and comprehensive affinity diagrams, we design and develop creative user experiences and interfaces that are heartfelt and human.

2. Designing a future that flows

For us, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then the flow and navigation of your website are worth a thousand pictures. We create user flow diagrams and wireframing exercises to visualise processes in a single picture, exploring and experimenting to create a user flow that achieves your users and your desired outcomes.

3. Creating moments that matter

We believe in creating handcrafted moments that matter. To make these moments a reality, we like to use customer journey maps. We'll take the phases of their potential journeys and think about the goals they'll have, the mental models they'll manifest, and the behaviours they're likely to have. Through this, we'll pick out the pain points and suggest improvements to test and test again.

4. Tailor-made teamwork

It's a little cliche, but teamwork truly does make the dream work. That's why every project that we put our name to comes fully equipped with a hand-picked team of our digital experts. Whether it's bringing your branding and motion graphics up to scratch, thinking about how your digital marketing and copywriting assets play a role in your UI and UX, or ensuring everything is a seamless and smooth experience with our web developers; at Star Digital, we work together to take you to the next level.
